Self Reflection
Alignment Statement
Following a lesson that I taught I wrote a reflection on my perceptions of the lesson and its effectiveness and then reflected on how I could improve. The template follows through what happened, the importance of what happened, and then the next steps. This required me to take the time to critically think about why observing my surroundings during a lesson is important and scaffolds the function of different behaviors. To improve educational practices critical reflections cannot stand alone, the next steps to improve must accompany this to make progress. This artifact shows how an educator can learn and grow from their practices.

Narrative Statement
To be the best educator that I can be it is imperative that I critically evaluate and reflect on my actions. In this specific reflection, I focus on student behaviors as a form of communication that can lead me to scaffold more comprehensively and explicitly. I also plan to create more multisensory models to facilitate whole-group instruction to meet the needs of each student. By taking the time to reflect on a lesson and finding the importance of what happens during a lesson I can better prepare future instruction to meet the needs of each student.
