As reflective scholar-practitioners, teacher
candidates develop a Sense of Purpose that
motivates, clarifies direction, guides action
towards reaching goals, and lends meaning
to all of their actions in service to others.
The path to developing this Sense of
Purpose is grounded in Jesuit values and
evolves through an openness to continuous
learning.

"I Profess" Paper

Description

In this artifact I profess the values and statements that drive both my daily life and my professional endeavors. Within this document, I define how I vow to be committed to students and the values that I hold in my educational practices.

Alignment with Theme/MEES

In alignment with the compass theme and all three stated MEES standards, are action statements as to how I will enact my values in the classroom. This reflective piece discusses the ways in which I believe educators and students can build relationships and collaborate. One of the themes in this artifact is the commitment to supportive interactions with students.

Reflection

My teaching philosophy is founded on the importance of relationships with educators and students. This artifact revolves around those same values and actions that I proclaim. I profess the need for human connection and acceptance in this artifact which I believe is necessary for a successful learning environment.

Connection to Goals

I am committed to the excellence of my future students and to being a support in their efforts and their lives. One of my goals is to hold myself accountable to these professions that are rooted in love, community, compassion, and acceptance. I will do this by encouraging students and celebrating their individuality and their efforts.
